As the Data Product Owner you will:
- Manage team backlog, prioritisation, accepting stories and representing both customers and Product Leads to the team.
- Review and contribute to the product vision and roadmap.
- Define stories, provide clarifications necessary to assist the team with story estimates, sequencing and team objectives.
- Maintain the data integrity of the entire data product and its sub-systems, ensuring ownership of the data is preserved end-to-end.
- Quality of deliverables. The DPO, is approver of acceptance criteria and is accountable for the quality of team deliverables on behalf of the product leads and customers.
- Act as conduit to the Product team and all internal clients. Involved in Product backlog refinement and preparation of program increments aimed at delivering business value to the Product team
- Drive new innovation, optimisation of existing data assets and research into new data products
- Drive the development of the minimal viable product (MVP) to budget and timelines. • Support platform showcases, team deliveries, release notifications and milestones reached on a regular basis.
- Liaise as Subject Matter Expert between developers and product managers on key platform features and data solutions Capture business glossary definitions and data dictionaries to ensure high quality business metadata for new /changed data asset
To be successful you will need the follow:
- You have experience in building, launching, and managing exceptional data products, and can raise the bar on customer centric thinking.
- You can dive into technical details and inspire engineers to deliver on a product vision and strategy.
- You understand the business drivers, systems and technologies behind your product, their limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions and reasons for architectural decisions.
- You are a self-starter who can work in an environment of high complexity and ambiguity, breaking down the big picture into actionable goals.
- You think long-term and can balance diverse and conflicting customer needs and converge on outcomes that earn customer loyalty.
- You can communicate your ideas and vision through well-researched working-backwards documents like press releases and FAQs.
- You have persistence and grit, never hesitate to challenge the status quo with data and metrics. You will have experience defining products, leading cross-functional teams, and communicating to many stakeholders.
- You’ll also need to be able to communicate clearly and effectively to all levels of the company, both in writing and in meetings
