The Tararua Alliance is a unique partnership between Tararua District Council and Downer NZ, established to manage the Tararua district’s transportation and 3-waters reticulation infrastructure in a collaborative, single-team approach. Our vision is ‘Leading through Collaboration’ and we are striving to deliver best in class services for Tararua communities.
Some outstanding results have been achieved since the Tararua Alliance was established in 2014, and we’re seeking to shift up another gear as we respond to continued growth and external changes. Both parent organisations have committed to continuing the partnership until at least 2029, and have set new objectives for the team to focus on.
We are now looking for a Project Engineer to join us.
The primary responsibility of this role is to provide engineering solutions through the lifecycle of a project (conception to completion) within the Capital Projects Team.
Your day to day will include the following:
- Providing Civil design and engineering expertise to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions for projects within your portfolio
- Leading the implementation of Quality Assurance processes for the Capital Works team.
- Development of Resource Consent Applications for civil construction projects
- Conducting site Inspections to ensure works are complete to relevant specifications and meet consent conditions.
- Liaison with relevant stakeholders, subcontractors and consultants during the development and delivery of works.
To be successful in the role, you will bring with you:
- Civil Project Engineering experience
- A Dip Eng, or other relevant qualification
- An understanding of environmental compliance requirements
- The ability to conceptualise civil construction works from start to finish
