Scott Technology Ltd Is Looking For Fitter Machinist (Bromley, Christchurch) at Bromley, Canterbury Full Time

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a experienced Fitter Machinists to join our team in Christchurch.  You will work closely with, the Scott team, apprentices, and contractors as required. This role will involve being part of a team that produces high quality work in manufacturing, fitting components and assemblies of our projects as well as participating in the commissioning of plant and customised equipment.

KEY SKILLS WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Producing quality workmanship and completing manufacturing, fitting and assembly tasks accurately to Scott standards and set targets.
• Operating various machine tools to support tasks.
• Verbal reporting details of job progress and timelines- current and expected.
• Setup and commissioning of equipment.
• Conducting in-house trials of assembled equipment.
• Applying problem solving methods.
• Mentoring and assisting apprentices. 

The candidate could have some or all of the above skills.  The role can be in either our Fitting or Machining workshops, so a specialist Fitter or Machinist could be considered.

YOU WILL HAVE

• A relevant trade qualification.
• Previous experience in a similar position.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Strong and varied fitting / assembly experience e.g., tool making, Pneumatic and Hydraulic reticulation would be an advantage.
• Machining centre experience e.g., CNC and manual milling and lathes would be an advantage.
• A professional and positive manner, along with the drive to meet deadlines.
• The ability to work diligently and efficiently, alone or in a team fitting cell environment.
• Availability to travel (domestic or international) to our customers’ sites to install and commission equipment as required.
• Experience working in a Lean-Six Sigma workplace (preferable).
• A commitment to working within a strong Health & Safety conscious environment.
