Silver Fern Farms Is Looking For Boiler Operator – FMCG at Balclutha, Otago Full Time

Our Finegand site in Balclutha is Silver Fern Farms largest processing facility in NZ, employing a large engineering team and with plenty of scope for growth, career advancements and upskilling within each team.

Due to unforeseen cirumstances, we have an opportunity for a “hands-on” person who is a skilled in operating a boiler. This position will be critical in managing the engineering resources of the boiler to ensure day to day functions are organised and prioritised as part of our ever changing team.

The position of Boiler Operator is a specialised position, and our business and operations are dependent upon you to ensure that all steam and hot water services for the plant are supplied at optimum levels.

The hours of work for this role are on a shift roster covering morning, afternoon, nights and weekends when weekend processing as this positon is critically aligned with our production team – making you a valued and appreciated member of our team.

The successful applicant will possess the following skill and attributes:

• Hold a boiler operator certificate, ENCHEM level 3
• Ability to perform routine inspection and frequent maintenance on boilers and boiler systems
• Knowledge on boiler water treatment (Chemical dosing, water testing practises and recordings)
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
• Have flexibility regarding working hours and providing cover
• Be physically fit and able to work within a team environment
• Responsible for the boiler auxiliaries
• Good maintenance skills combined with a “can do “attitude
• Must have the right to work in New Zealand
