What will you be doing? You will be stepping into a senior level role, taking over an established portfolio of premium clients within the personal and home care manufacturing sector and product management responsibilities for some of IMCD’s largest agencies. This is a broad role:
Managing an assigned portfolio of customers to achieve and exceed sales gross profit targets and increasing business with existing customers through the introduction of existing and new products.
Business development: identification of trends and opportunities, developing and executing action plans to grow the business.
Developing the overall marketing programs for new and assigned products, working closely with the regional marketing team to implement planned initiatives.
Sourcing and developing new products, markets and supplier agencies.
Maximising gross profit for the assigned products / suppliers by ensuring the continual availability of competitively priced quality products.
What are we looking for?
Relevant tertiary qualification in Chemistry or a related discipline is strongly preferred.
Several years’ experience in sales and/or marketing and current knowledge of the New Zealand manufacturing industry (e.g., personal care (toiletries), home care (cleaners, deodorisers)).
Proven success as both a Hunter and Gatherer: Account Manager and Business Development. You have strong negotiation skills, able to develop a commercial relationship and close a sale.
Commercial acumen. You understand pricing strategy, trading terms and exchange rates and their impact on the cost of imported goods.
A confident and engaging personality, comfortable working autonomously while also enjoying the camaraderie of a tight-knit team of driven professionals.
You can be summed up as: performance driven and customer focused, organised, reliable and consistent, honest, persuasive, action orientated, energetic self-starter, team player and possessing a great sense of humour.
